Open the scan app. do one of the following: place the item you want to scan face down on the scanner's flatbed and close the cover. place the item you want to scan in the scanner's document feeder.. Hi professor, many thanks for your help. your suggested solution has solved my problem. i noted that one aspect of the solution involving a microsoft application (clearing or resetting registers) does not work for windows 10.. Scan app not working since windows 10 1511 update - dell v715w since the windows 10 1511 update can no longer scan to the v715w printer using the scan app from the pc, it just says connect a scanner when you open it even though the scanner is connected!.
If the scan app does not display in the list, install windows scan (in english) from the windows store. if source is an available option, select where you loaded your document or photo. click show more to change settings such as color mode , resolution , and where to save the file..
